If not treated, skin allergies and minor injuries can result in secondary bacterial infection as your pet scratches, bites and licks the skin. During your online appointment I will take a look at the skin to help identify what the underlying cause of the infection may be and how best to treat it.
Bacterial infections are secondary to a range of underlying conditions that make your pet’s skin inflamed or alter its barrier properties.
Three common conditions that may inflame your pet’s skin
The most common underlying causes of skin infections are:
- Allergies
- Parasites
- Hormonal disorders
During your online appointment I will examine your pet’s skin as well as discussing any factors that may be triggering infection. I will then follow-up with a detailed report for you and/or your vet to consider.
